Meet a tour assistant at Rome’s Termini Station at approx 0800HRS (optional private transfer from hotels in Rome from 0700-0745HRS, if centrally located available on request with supplement) and take a high speed train to Naples. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Naples. Day at leisure to explore the city and taste the excellence of local food such as pizza. Overnight stay in Naples.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning reach Piazza del Gesù Nuovo to start a guided walking tour to admire Church of Gesù Nuovo and the Monastery of Santa Chiara. Next, visit Pignasecca, a colourful local market buzzing with food and clothing shops. Take in the sights and smells of the market and try some typical Neapolitan street food along the way. Enter the bustling Quartieri Spagnoli (Spanish Quarter), the most densely populated and characteristic part of the city. Look up the hill at its grid of alleys and stairs and take in the street art and hanging linens decorating the balconies. Finish in the monumental area of Naples and admire the elegant Caffé Gambrinus, the San Carlo Theatre, the Galleria Umberto, and the Piazza Plebiscito framed in the background by the Royal Palace. Breakfast at the hotel, check out and pick up at approx 1000HRS. Proceed to Pompeii for the semi-private guided tour of the archaeological excavations. This ancient Roman city was destroyed when Vesuvius erupted in 79AD and buried it, preserving it under a sea of volcanic ash for nearly 1,700 years. At the end of the visit transfer to Sorrento, famous for its picturesque old town centre and characteristic fisherman’s village of Marina Grande, one of the most authentic treasures of the city. A local assistant welcomes you at the hotel during the check-in and gives you all the information for Capri excursion and the following transfer and activities. Overnight stay in Sorrento. (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the port, according to the details provided by the assistant. Sail to Capri by traditional boat ‘Gozzo Sorrentino’. Enjoy a boat trip around the island and the possibility to swim in the crystal-clear waters or visit the Blue Grotto (optional entrance, weather permitting). Once landed on the island, you will continue by minibus to discover it and reach the legendary Piazzetta, heart of the island. Enjoy some free time to explore Capri at your own pace.
