Welcome to Venice! Transfer from the airport to your hotel. Overnight stay in Venice.
Breakfast at the hotel. At approx 0900HRS meet the guide at the hotel for a private walking tour of Venice (2 hours). Visit Piazza San Marco and hear about the origins and history of the main sights - Basilica San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Bell Tower, Clock Tower and Procuratie. See the wonderful and characteristic square of Santa Maria Formosa, Campo St Giovanni e Paolo - “The Pantheon of Venice”, the great School of Charity, the Captains of Fortune, Marco Polo’s House and Malibran Theatre, where anecdotes of the past and recent history cross each other in this beautiful corner of Venice. Return to San Marco through the Mercerie, vital connection between Rialto and San Marco and the main street for the city shopping. Time at leisure. In the afternoon, at approx 1800HRS pick up from the hotel (or meeting point in city centre) to begin the Bacaro Tour experience. A visit to a couple of local wine bars in the less touristic areas of Venice, where you will taste local wines and the so-called ‘cicchetti’, a type of Venetian tapas. At the end of the tour make your own way to the hotel. Overnight stay in Venice. (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will have an unforgettable tour not to be missed. Discover Venice onboard of a gondola! Available in the morning or in the afternoon (last departure available can change due to the season). The best way to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of a city built on water is onboard a gondola. Gliding through Venice’s canals, you’ll be introduced to the splendid palaces, churches, bridges, gardens and warehouses lining the city’s liquid streets. Embarking is possible from one of the following gondola stations: Danieli, Dogana or Vallaresso, Bauer, the meeting point will be reconfirmed. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay in Venice.
