Island Hopping By Mountain Bike & Boat Gulf Of Gökova MTB Standard 2025

Bodrum - Yaliciftlik - Mazi - Akbuk - Akyaka - Camli - Yedi Adalar - Kormen - Knidos - Bodrum

Exploring the Gökova Gulf by mountain bike and boat is a pure nature experience! This scenic gem stretches between the historic city of Bodrum and the spectacular Datҁa Peninsula. In contrast to the modernity of Bodrum, it feels as if time has stood still in the small villages surrounding the large city, where the locals are friendly and full of smiles.

Spared from mass tourism, it is here that the true colours of Turkey begin to shine. Unspoiled, wild nature with fantastic panoramas, small harbours, wonderfully clear water, and historical highlights make the Gökova-Gulf a very attractive holiday destination, well worth discovering on two wheels! On this tour you explore this charming area without ever having to worry about your luggage. Your comfortable floating home (and restaurant!) accompanies you throughout the whole tour.

Explore the region by mountain bike along a number of natural trails and newly built single trails, with refreshing swim stops in the sea at the end of each day. In the evening, there is plenty of time to take a walk through the idyllic harbour towns or relax in quaint bars or on the deck of the ship.

On all dates the hybrid bike & boat tour Gulf of Gökova takes place parallel on the same ship. One tour guide leads the hybrid bikers, the other the mountain bikers. The degree of difficulty of the individual bike tours can be adapted to the condition and technical ability of the group.

Approx 215km; 5,300m elevation by MTB or e-MTB, MTB Level 2, S0-S3

Important Notes

Route, Itinerary & Inclusions are subject to change without prior notice.

Port taxes, entrance fees, sightseeing and excursions (if not included in the package) must be paid in local currency upon arrival.

It is highly recommended that clients take comprehensive travel insurance including against cancellation of reserved services.

Itinerary Changes
Cruise operator reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organisational requirements. Sometimes the tour will be run in reverse order. Tours are dependent on weather conditions and the final decision is that of the captain. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend time on board the boat, instead of taking a planned bike-tour.

Helmet Requirement
Helmets are mandatory on our bike tours. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted, helmet with you as our rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required).  Furthermore, we recommend riders to carry arm and leg protectors during the bike tours.

MTB Level 2
Moderate to challenging daily tours in hilly terrain at distances of 25-47 km and 300-1000 metres of elevation. The terrain in this region is very diverse and changes from place to place: technical and demanding single trails alternate with wide gravel 4x4 roads and sometimes also quiet asphalt stretches; there are very few unrideable points. Various sections in the tour are offered at a higher or lower technical degree, leaving you to make the final decision.

Single-Trail Classification
To ensure that you are well prepared for your bike tour and know what technical difficult level to expect, a classification has been created for all single trails that could be ridden on the tours. The difficulty levels included in our classification coincide with the Single Trail Scale which can be found at http://www.singletrail-skala.de

Blue (easy, S0 - S1): small obstacles such as small roots, small stones, some erosion, gradients of up to 40%, loose surfaces, tight corners but no hairpins, obstacles can be rolled over. Skilful braking and weight shift required, riding while standing.
Red (medium, S2): loose surfaces, larger stones and roots, steps and shallow stairs, gradients of up to 70%, light hairpins. Constant readiness to brake, shift of centre weight to overcome obstacles, accurate braking, consistent body tension required.
Black (difficult, S3 - S5): blocked single trails, many large boulders and roots, smooth/slippery surfaces, loose scree slopes, large steps/drops, extremely steep gradients of over 70%, tight hairpins. Expert level of bike control/handling required.

Group Riding Pace
On a guided MTB tour the speed of the group is determined by the mountain bikers on regular bikes. If you have hired an e-MTB, we ask you to respect those in the group who are riding without electric support. Those on regular bikes require more time and recovery when biking up hill. We thank you for your understanding.

Children
We believe that only children in a good physical condition with a minimum age of 14 who have previous MTB riding experience can keep up with the demands of our mountain bike tours. In addition, they should have prior experience with riding techniques needed for descending on narrow trails and technical terrain. Please be aware, that our smallest rental mountain bikes are suited to a body height of 1.50m and above (XS frame). When travelling with children, we recommend the Multi-Adventure Tours in Greece and Croatia which are specifically curated for families and offer family-friendly pricing.

Accommodation - Deluxe Gulet Boreas (all cabins with shower/toilet)
The 43 x 10 m Turkish gulet, Boreas, provides utmost comfort for your yacht cruise. This ship has 15 spacious and climate-controlled guest cabins with tiled bathrooms with separate shower cabins and toilet. The large saloon includes a bar, and the vast ships decks provide shaded and sunny areas to relax with plenty of comfortable seating areas and sunning mattresses.

Catering
The onboard chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one warm meal a day. The half board starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.

Internet Availability
Turkish boats do not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the cruise, we recommend taking your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you can use the WiFi to your hearts content.
