Day 2
Bodrum - Kos

In the morning we cross over to Kos Town and bike in the direction of the world-famous archaeological excavation site of the Asklepion in Kos, the former home of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. We cycle on until we reach the town of Kos. A wealth of cultural sights in Kos Town provide an insight into the town’s turbulent historical past including the Roman Forum, the Crusader Fortress, and the mosques from the time when Kos was part of the Ottoman Empire. The evening can be spent in one of the numerous bars or cafes in town.

Day 3
Kos - Leros - Patmos

We enjoy an early morning crossing to the scenic Island of Leros. Today’s ride leads us to the fort of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem in Agia Marina and on through the small alleyways of the town. Passing the picturesque town harbour, we cycle on to the seaside chapel Agios Isidoros, a popular place on the island to get married. Following the coastline, we reach a beautiful sandy beach where we stop for a swim and coffee. We then cycle on to the boat before sailing for Patmos or a nearby bay.

Cycle route approx 28km

Day 4
Patmos - Lipsi

Today we visit Patmos and its grotto on a short panoramic bike tour. It is said that St John received the revelation during his captivity here. The world-famous monastery of St John of Chora is found in a village with numerous white alleys, and 34 churches and chapels. After our visit, we cycle along the coast until we reach the port. We meet the boat for lunch and crossing to Lipsi. Enjoy the afternoon in the charming harbour town and be sure not to miss out on a visit to the legendary pastry shop.

Cycle route approx 12-16km

Day 5
Lipsi - Kalymnos

In the late morning we explore Lipsi by bicycle, gaining an impression of its rich agriculture as we follow the route once around the island. The old town of Pothia still clearly shows the former wealth of its inhabitants acquired through sponge diving.

Today, a round tour by bike on Kalymnos is on the programme. We will get to know the entire island, which has made a name for itself far beyond Greece's borders as a climber's paradise. Back in Pothia, the ship awaits us for lunch and the crossing to Kos Town for an overnight stay.

Important Notes

Itinerary Changes
Cruise Operator reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organisational requirements. Sometimes the cruise will be run in reverse order. Cruises are dependent on weather conditions and the final decision is that of the captain.

Fitness Level 2-3
Aside from two challenging cycle tours on Kalymnos and Kos, this trip can be counted as one of the less difficult cycle cruises. The cycling routes require a basic level of fitness, which you should have acquired through regular cycling. The routes can reach an altitude of 200-500m. The daily routes of approx 20-45km will take us up through hilly and mountainous terrain and can be completed without time constraints. Participants will also need to master long and steep climbs, during which they are, however, also permitted to push their bicycles. Upon consultation with your tour guides, it may be possible for you to cycle on your own along suitable, recommended routes.

Children
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and previous bicycle tour experience and with a minimum age of 10 are able to master the cycle tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bicycle is 1.50m

Group Riding Pace
On most Bike & Boat cruises you can choose between a hybrid bike and an e-bike. However, the guided group pace is based on the speed of the hybrid bike cyclists. Those who rent an e-bike on a hybrid bike tour, are asked to show consideration for those who ride without electronic assistance. Hybrid bike cyclists need more breaks and more time to cycle the hills. We thank you for your understanding.

Helmet Requirement
Helmets are mandatory on all bike tours. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted helmet with you as rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required).

Catering
The onboard chef is a member of the crew and prepares breakfast and one warm meal a day. The half board starts with dinner on the arrival day and ends with breakfast on the departure day.

Internet Availability
Turkish boats do not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the cruise, we recommend bringing your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts content.

Language
Cruise and cycle tours are conducted bilingually (English, German).
