Day by day Itinerary

Day 1
Bodrum

Individual arrival to Bodrum. Check in onboard starts at 1400HRS. Use the evening hours to enjoy the lively atmosphere in the city of Bodrum and relax with a typical Turkish tea. In the evening, a shared dinner on board can be enjoyed in the company of your travel companions and tour guides.

Day 2
Bodrum - Körmen - Knidos

In the early morning, leave for your first sailing trip of the week which brings you from Bodrum to Körmen. Once you arrive, hop on your bike for your first cycling tour, along the Datça peninsula. The first ascent takes you to a height of 450m before you head back down to the sea. On a clear day it is possible to see the Greek islands Nisyros, Tilos and Rhodes. A scenic road leads first along the coast and then through more rural areas, before taking you to Knidos. After visiting the impressive archaeological site, stay in one of the most picturesque bays on the Turkish coast.

Cycle route approx 42km

Day 3
Knidos - Çiftlik

Time to relax in the morning of the third day spent on the ship which takes us to a small bay on the utmost peak of the Bozburun Peninsula. A lonely mountain road takes us to a mountain village located at 300m with a 1,500-year-old plane tree and a lively bazaar worth a visit. A brief walk around the plane tree should ensure a lucky and long life. After lunch, continue to the bay of Çiftlik with your bike where there is enough time to refresh yourself with a long swim in the sea.

Cycle route approx 49km

Day 4
Çiftlik - Ekincik - Kaunos

During breakfast, cross over to the little harbour of Ekincik, the starting point of today’s bike ride. After crossing the pass with its spectacular views, reach the shore of Lake Köycegiz, where you have the opportunity to enjoy a healing mud bath close to Sultaniye. After cycling through another small pass, reach the mouth of the Dalyan River. From here, hop on a small boat for a 30 minute cruise past the impressive Lycian rock-cut tombs overlooking the Dalyan delta to your boat which waits on anchor near a small rocky island.

Cycle route approx 31km

Day 5
Kaunos - Dalaman - Sarsala

After breakfast, the boat brings you close to the ancient city of Kaunos, the first destination of today’s bike tour. Once directly on the seaside and an important port town, the harbour now lies 8km from the coast. Only the ruins are silent witnesses of the former wealth of the city. After visiting the site, continue on by bike. Cross the fertile Dalaman plains with their cotton fields and orchards and take a well-deserved break in a tea house in Dalaman. After crossing a small pass, reach the beautiful bay of Sarsala, where you can already spot the ship from afar.

Cycle route approx 42km

Day 6
Sarsala - Gemiler - Fethiye

After breakfast, the ship passes plenty of little islands before reaching Gemiler, also known as the Island of St Nicolas, on which a church was built for him in the 5th century. Back on the mainland your bike ride takes you through a pine forest to the 1922 abandoned Greek city Kayakoy, once home to 6,500 inhabitants. From here, continue your bike ride to Fethiye where you have the chance to extend your tour by a few kilometres: a small peninsula nearby tempts with its quiet bays and beautiful beaches, perfect for a picturesque swim stop. In the evening you can spend the time exploring the city of Fethiye with its local bazar. The old town, marked by the Eski Cami Mosque is also worth a visit, with its narrow, winding alleyways and the typical corner houses.

Cycle route approx 33km

Day 7
Fethiye - Saklikent - Fethiye

A 60-minute bus transfer takes you to Cavdir, the starting point of today’s cycling tour. From here you will bike to the Saklikent Canyon, where we can enjoy lunch at the riverbank. In Turkish “Saklikent” means “Hidden City”. The canyon is spectacular and can be easily explored on foot. Afterwards, continue your cycling tour to Kadiköy. From here a short transfer takes you to the ancient town of Tlos which was once one of the largest towns in Lycia. After your visit a transfer takes you to Fethiye.

Cycle route approx 27km

Important Notes

Route, Itinerary & Inclusions are subject to change without prior notice.

Port taxes, entrance fees, sightseeing and excursions (if not included in the package) must be paid in local currency upon arrival.

It is highly recommended that clients take comprehensive travel insurance including against cancellation of reserved services.

Itinerary Changes
Cruise operator reserves the right to make alterations to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organisational requirements. Sometimes the tour will be conducted in inverse order. You will find further details in your booking information packet.

Helmet Requirements
Helmets are mandatory on your bike tour. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted, helmet with you as the rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required at time of booking).

Bicycle Level 5
Cycling tours through mountainous terrain with some steeper ascents of up to approximately 400 meters. All tours, including the elevation gains, can be mastered more easily with electronic assistance. Requires excellent bike handling, even on descents with steep hairpin turns and unpaved paths.

Distance: 27 - 49 km per day

Elevation: 300 - 900 meters of elevation per day

Road conditions: The roads are mostly asphalted, but very rough. There is no such thing as smooth asphalt in Turkey. On some stretches of road, you can expect to encounter chippings and small potholes. For this reason, our rental bikes are also equipped with thick tires and suspension to compensate for bumps.

Traffic: Traffic is to be expected within and around coastal towns. 95% of cycle tours lead through rural areas with very little to no traffic.

Infrastructure: There are no designated cycle paths in Turkey; cycling tours take place on public roads, preferably on quiet side roads.

Relevant for all levels: Safe cycling skills and familiarity with road traffic are prerequisites for taking part in our tours. Anyone renting an e-bike should already have experience and be confident in handling e-bikes, as these bikes are significantly heavier and faster than conventional bikes.

Individual cycling
This tour is primarily a guided group tour. Upon consultation with your tour guides, the possibility to cycle on your own along recommended, suitable routes, may present itself. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned bike tour.

Guided group pace:
On the e-bike tour programs, the riding pace is determined by the cyclists on e-bikes. Guests who are taking part on these tours on a gravel bike should have the necessary physical condition to keep up with this pace. We thank you for your understanding

Children
We believe that only children with a good physical condition and previous bicycle tour experience and a minimum age of 10 are able to master the cycle tours with their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental e-bike is 1.50m (5ft.).  When travelling with children, we recommend the Multi-Adventure Tours in Greece and Croatia which are specifically curated for families and offer family-friendly pricing.

Accommodation - Deluxe Gulet Admiral (all cabins with shower/toilet)
The 42 x 8.40 m Turkish gulet, Admiral, is a true eye catcher with its three towering masts. The boat offers 15 spacious and climate controlled guest cabins with tiled bathrooms and separate shower cabins and toilet. The large saloon is tastefully decorated and includes a bar where you can order a refreshing beverage. The vast ships decks provide shaded and sunny areas to relax with plenty of comfortable seating areas and sunning mattresses.

Catering
The onboard chef is a member of the crew and will prepare breakfast and one warm meal daily. The catering starts with dinner on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day.

Internet Availability
Turkish boats do not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the tour, we recommend bringing your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts content.

Language
Cruise and cycle tours are conducted bilingually (English, German).

Participants
Minimum 14 / Maximum 30
