Nafplio is a seaport town located in the north end of Argolic Gulf. It is known as one of the most romantic cities in Greece. During the Greek War of Independence, Nafplio was a stronghold and was formally the Capital of the Kingdom of Greece until it moved to Athens in 1834. You can take a bus from Athens and the journey time is approximately 2.5 hours. There are many interesting places to see in Nafplio such as the old town fortifications and Vouleftikon, Parliament of the first Greek Nation. A great way to see the town is by bike.
