Lopud Island, Elaphiti Islands, Dalmatia - Dubrovnik, Croatia
Second largest of the Elaphiti group of islands, Lopud has one of the most developed tourist offerings in the region. It was an island of captains and sailors in the times of the Dubrovnik Republic and much more densely populated. Ruins of the old summer residences, medieval churches, and fortresses are still visible on the island.
