Day by day Itinerary

Day 1
Ljubljana

Welcome to Slovenia and its beloved capital! Upon arrival in Ljubljana you will be transferred to your tour hotel. Meet with your Tour Director and get to know the details of your tour. Free time in Ljubljana.

Day 2
Ljubljana

Start your day with visit of colourful capital, Ljubljana. Your guide will take you around and show you the most important attractions, such as Prešeren Square, Triple Bridge, Fish Market, Town Hall and many others. To wrap up the whole Ljubljana story, you will also take funicular up to the Castle Hill, to learn more about Ljubljana and Slovenia’s history and of course admire amazing view from the top. Afternoon will be free at leisure, to enjoy city on your own. (B)

Day 3
Ljubljana - Maribor - Ptuj - Ljubljana

Drive to Maribor and begin with sightseeing of Maribor, second largest city in Slovenia, known as the city with the oldest grapevine in the world which counts more than 400 years. The guide will take you through the Old Town by the river, where you will stop in one of restaurants for lunch. Some free time and then continue to Ptuj, the oldest city in Slovenia. It was the Romans who left a very strong mark here, with their gravestones, temples and roads, back then the city was known as Petovio. Later on, drive back to Ljubljana for overnight. (B, T)

Day 4
Ljubljana - Predjama - Postojna - Portorož

Your adventure will continue to the underworld, more exactly Karst underworld. Your first stop - Predjama, amazing Renaissance fortress, built within a cave, is not at all the kind of castle you are familiar with. Even Guinness book of records listed it as largest castle ever built inside a rock. It will definitely leave you speechless. Enter the queen of all caves - Postojna, the only cave in the world with a train in it. The cave offers a unique experience of the underworld. After breathtaking walk underground, free time for lunch and afternoon drive to Slovenian seaside. Accommodation in one of the seaside resorts and free time to relax on the beach. (B)

Day 5
Portorož - Piran - Koper - Portorož

In the morning we take a guided tour of small boutique town of Piran. This Slovenian jewel used to be part of Venetian Republic once, so the town’s architecture reminds a lot of Venice and is absolutely one of the most adorable towns in the world. After free time for coffee by the sea, you will visit Koper, Slovenian coastal town that once used to be an island. Its medieval streets are just perfect for afternoon wandering. Lunch and free time to enjoy Slovenian seaside and relax. (B, L)

Day 6
Portorož - Lipica - Soča Valley - Kobarid - Bohinj/Bled

After breakfast drive back to the Karst region, to get to know another story, this time about horses. You will meet a special breed of horse, called Lipizzaner. Special horses that were bred for Habsburg monarchy and are famous for being born black and becoming white while growing up. Done with very interesting visit of the historical stud farm, continue to emerald valley of Soča. The region used to be part of well-known Isonzo front in WWI, and the most important, the 12th happened in Caporetto (Kobarid) which is right in the heart of the valley where a WWI Museum is located. Museum visit after lunch and afternoon drive to Julian Alps region, where magical views and pristine nature is waiting for you. Overnight will be in either Bohinj or Bled. (B, L)

Day 7
Bohinj/Bled - Bled - Bohinj - Bohinj/Bled

Time for an Alpine fairy tale! With immense natural beauty, Bled, together with its surroundings and magnificent lake with an island, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts of the world. Amazing castle on the cliff is offering stunning views of the region, while island in the middle of the lake can be visited with traditional boat called ‘Pletna’. After lunch, continue to the largest alpine lake in Slovenia - Lake Bohinj. You will take a funicular to Mt Vogel’s top, where your breath will be taken away by unforgettable views of Triglav National Park. Some free time to admire its natural beauty and relax on the lake shore. In the evening join your group for a Farewell Slovenia Dinner where you will talk about most memorable moments of the tour and plan for new ones. Overnight will be in either Bohinj or Bled. Day 8
Bohinj/Bled - Zagreb

After breakfast, some free time and then transfer to Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. Arrival in Zagreb in the afternoon. Meet with your Tour Director and get to know the details of your tour. Free time in Zagreb. (B)

Day 9
Zagreb

Explore the interesting Croatian capital. Walking tour of historical Zagreb composed of Gornji Grad and Kaptol, will show you medieval, urban complex of churches, palaces, museums, galleries and government buildings, some of the most popular sightseeing spots in the city. Free afternoon to enjoy and discover the city further on your own. (B)

Day 10
Zagreb - Plitvice Lakes - Slunj

One of the most photogenic natural parks is waiting for you. A trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park will absolutely take your breath away. With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 08 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered one of the most spectacular natural phenomena, with 16 emerald-turquoise lakes that are connected to each other by a fabulous system of waterfalls. After a guided tour of the park you will have some time to enjoy the pristine nature and admire the emerald water. Later in the afternoon, transfer to the hotel in Plitvice area for overnight. Day 11
Slunj - Zadar - Trogir - Split

This morning after breakfast, continue to Zadar and start with a short city tour among ancient and early Christian monuments. Zadar was once the important city of the first Croatian Kingdom and is nowadays administrative and cultural capital of Northern Dalmatia. The antique Roman Forum, the old Church of St Donatus, Cathedral of St Anastasia and many other of its sights will leave an impression on you. Of course, you will also visit one of the most important “bucket list” attractions - Sea Organ, experimental instrument that plays music by the way of sea waves. In the afternoon drive to Split, with a stop in Trogir, antique town full of magical palaces. Free time in Split and overnight. (B, L)

Day 12
Split

Split is the capital of Dalmatia and both the administrative and cultural centre. The Old Town centre with its Diocletian Palace is part of a UNESCO Heritage and is the most compelling ancient Roman monument in Croatia. Start your day with exploring the city centre with a city tour that will take you to Diocletian Palace, St Domnius Cathedral, The Golden Gate and to the famous Split Riva seaside promenade. Afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Day 13
Split - Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is a unique jewel of the Adriatic Coast and is one of the most iconic cities in the world. The city-state of Dubrovnik was one of the most important merchant powers in the entire Adriatic region. Walk along the medieval walls that surround the Old Town centre and discover its ancient secrets. Passing the Pile Gate, Franciscan Monastery, visiting Rector’s Palace and discovering the magnificent city walls will amaze you. The afternoon will be free for exploring the city on your own or join an optional tour to the Island of Lokrum, famous for its Fort Royale, Botanical Garden and Monastery. (B)

Day 14
Dubrovnik

Free time to enjoy Dubrovnik on your own. Take a boat trip to Elaphiti Islands or just wander the medieval streets and travel back in time. In the evening, join your group for a Farewell Croatia Dinner where you will talk about most memorable moments of the tour. (B, D)

Day 15
Dubrovnik

Breakfast at the hotel and free time until departure transfer to Dubrovnik Airport. (B)
