Day by day Itinerary

Day 1

A transfer is included upon your arrival from Zagreb Airport to the hotel. Zagreb offers a welcome jolt of big-city sophistication. You can't get a complete picture of modern Croatia without a visit here, away from the touristy resorts, in the lively and liveable city that is home to one out of every six Croatians.

Day 2

Get to know Croatia’s capital through the included city tour. The city is packed with historic buildings, such as the neo-gothic St Mark’s Church. Your tour with a local guide will also include cheese tasting at the Dolac Market as an ideal place to delve into Croatia’s culinary scene and funicular ride to the Upper Town. Enjoy a free afternoon in the city or back at your hotel. (B, T)

Day 3
Zagreb - Sarajevo

Transfer from Zagreb to Sarajevo. For over four hundred years, mosques, synagogues, Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches have been built and have stood side by side amidst Sarajevo, thus giving the city its unique feel and adding to the Sarajevo image of being the "European Jerusalem". (B, D)

Day 4

Join a local guide for a guided walking tour of the old town, past the largest mosque in the Balkans, the Eternal Flame and the Sarajevo Roses that are dotted across the city as a stark reminder of the turmoil Sarajevo endured just a few decades ago. Variety of cultures and religions, as well as three contrasting components of the town from former times are sufficient reasons for visiting Sarajevo. In the heart of the city, one finds the famous Sarajevo's old bazaar Baščaršija from the Turkish period, where you can see various handicrafts of metal, stone, wood, glass, wool, leather etc. Sarajevo is famous for its museums, bridges, sport centres, mosques (visit Gazi-Husrev Bey Mosque), synagogue, Orthodox and Catholic churches, and many other significant highlights. (B)

Day 5
Sarajevo - Višegrad - Zlatibor

From Sarajevo to Višegrad. Famous for its UNESCO-listed 'Bridge over Drina River' immortalised in Ivo Andrić's classic novel, Višegrad has parlayed this identity into a niche tourist industry by building Andrićgrad, a small but likeable mock-historical town celebrating the Nobel Prize winner. Continue to Mokra Gora, a village on the border mountain Zlatibor, Tara and Sargan, which overshadows the hill Mećavnik of the film village Drvengrad (Wooden Town), formed one of the most popular ethnic villages in Serbia, which has been constantly growing. All ideas come from famous filmmaker Emir Kusturica, who for the film ‘Life is a Miracle’ created the settings which grew into a town where the famous film director lives. (B, L, D)

Day 6
Zlatibor - Durmitor - Podgorica

Our next destination is Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkans, located at 1,450 metres above the sea level. After enjoying breathtaking mountain scenery and lunch at a local restaurant, we proceed to a hidden jewel, the Durmitor National Park. Continue towards Podgorica passing by spiritual and mysterious place in Montenegro, the Ostrog Monastery. Finish your day at Montenegro’s capital Podgorica. (B, L)

Day 7
Podgorica - Skadar - Cetinje - Budva

After morning orientation tour of Podgorica, continue to Lake Skadar, the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula. Continue to Cetinje, the Old Royal Capital of Montenegro. Cetinje is a treasure of Montenegrin cultural and historical heritage. We'll choose a scenic spot for your meal, Njeguši Sandwich, a hearty sandwich made with fresh homemade bread and filled with Njeguši prosciutto and cheese. Continue to the walled town of Budva, known for its sandy beaches and diverse nightlife for a short orientation tour. Continue to your hotel for overnight. (B, D)

Day 8
Budva - Sveti Stefan - Kotor - Dubrovnik

In the morning, travel to Sveti Stefan for a photo stop and learn about the interesting history of this small islet. Continue to Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its many ancient monuments and well-preserved Medieval architecture. Follow your guide through the town's historical centre and spend some time at your leisure. Then stop at one of the most iconic places in the Bay of Kotor, Perast for a boat trip to the small islet of ‘Our Lady of the Rocks’ before heading to Dubrovnik. In the afternoon arrive to Dubrovnik, a true ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. (B)

Day 9

During our walking tour of the fortified Old Town, we will see the impressive ramparts, erected during the Crusades to protect the town against land attacks.
