Dubrovnik - Konavle - Pelješac Peninsula - Lumbarda - Korčula - Račišće - Lumbarda - Korčula - Mljet NP - Dubrovnik - Šipan - Dubrovnik

During 7 days you will explore the amazing islands, medieval towns, old villages and lovely bays. Croatia is a country of 1000 islands, rich history, Mediterranean vegetation and mild climate. One of the best ways to explore it is without any doubt on a bike. Tour is 3 destination based: beginning on the Konavle where you spend 2 days, then you continue traveling over Pelješac peninsula towards Korčula where you spend 2 days, after that you cruise to the beautiful island Mljet and return to Dubrovnik area where you spend one day of cycling on the island of Šipan.

Day by day Itinerary

Day 1
Dubrovnik - Konavle Countryside

You will be met by a representative at Dubrovnik airport for a short transfer to your accommodation in  Konavle. Here you will receive your bikes and an introduction will be given for your trip. Depending on the time you will enjoy a warmup for a ride in the Konavle valley. Overnight in Konavle countryside.

Day 2
Konavle Countryside

Today you will spend cycling in a farming area around Dubrovnik. The cycling route follows the valley and the river Ljuta. You will visit the villages of Zvekovica (with eventually a visit to the town Cavtat) and you will pass a group of villages in Gornja Banda. Overnight in Konavle countryside. (B)

Konavle long loop - approx 65km; +1140/-1140m elevation

Day 3
Konavle Countryside - Pelješac Peninsula - Lumbarda

Today you will be transferred by shuttle bus from Konavle to Pelješac peninsula and Korčula island. You will have the option to cycle around the Pelješac peninsula bike route (up to 50 km), this route is very scenic but with some demanding parts. Or if you decide not to cycle it is possible to be transferred by shuttle bus to Korčula and enjoy a shorter bike ride on the island. Overnight in Lumbarda. (B)

Day 4
Lumbarda - Korčula - Račišće - Lumbarda

Today we would like to suggest a circular ride from the village of Lumbarda to Korčula town. You will be able to visit the Cathedral and the house of Marco Polo. After some sightseeing you will bike along the coastal road to the picturesque bay of Račišce and back on the same road to Lumbarda. Overnight in Lumbarda. (B)

Day 5
Lumbarda - Korčula - Mljet - Polače or Pomena

After breakfast you will head to port Korčula where you will take the ferry to Mljet. This journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Your cycle ride starts in the village of Pomena or Polače, two small towns just outside national park territory. Your route will take you around the salt lakes, through villages Babine Kuće and Soline and back around the lakes to town Polače or Pomena.  Today you will visit the delightful island of Mljet. It is a protected area where you will find two salt lakes and many historical monuments that date back from ancient times. Overnight in Polače or Pomena. (B)

Day 6
Polače or Pomena - Dubrovnik

Today we depart from Mljet to Dubrovnik, taking a ferry (or combine with car shuttle, transfer from the island depends of the available ferries and season). Upon arrival in Dubrovnik you will be transferred to your accommodation. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)

Day 7
Dubrovnik - Šipan Island - Dubrovnik

After the breakfast we will leave Dubrovnik for a day trip to Šipan Island, largest of the Elaphiti Islands, 17km northwest of Dubrovnik. From your Dubrovnik accommodation you will cycle to port Gruž where bikes are put on board for the crossing to Šipan. Today’s ride on the island is very easy and relaxing, a short biking distance is combine with sightseeing and swimming on this quite island. Island Šipan was the residential place of Dubrovnik's patricians but today is calm and well-preserved typical Dalmatian island. Following the road from Suđurađ past vineyards and olive groves to Luka, a small harbour on the west of the island. Here you will find many interesting sights to explore, including old churches, summer residential palaces, beautiful pine forests and hidden bays. This is ideal day for easy cycling, swimming and relax from the city crowds. During afternoon we will take a ferry back to Dubrovnik (there are several times that you can choose for return to Dubrovnik). Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)

Šipan Island loop - approx 15km; +250/-250m elevation

 

Day 8
Dubrovnik

After breakfast you will be transferred to Dubrovnik Airport. (B)

Classic accommodation is represented by small, family run guest-houses and B&B’s in rural areas with ensuite bathroom and 3* family run hotels with unique atmosphere. Most accommodations are offering dinner, fresh and traditional food (some needs information in advance).

Cycling Tour Grade - 2/5 Easy to Moderate
This holiday requires cyclist with better level of fitness who are occasional cyclist. Cycling days are longer and higher hills are possible. Daily distance 35-55km.
