The Gulf of Gokova, stretching between the historic city of Bodrum and the extremely attractive Datca Peninsula, is a scenic gem - a highlight among the cycling cruises in Turkey. Completely spared from mass tourism, it is here that Turkey shows itself from its original side and offers the best prerequisites for an unforgettable active holiday. Untamed nature with fantastic panoramas, small harbours, wonderfully clear sea and historical highlights make the Gokova Gulf a very attractive holiday destination, worth exploring by bike and boat! On all dates bike & boat cruise to the Gokova Gulf takes place on the same ship and parallel to the MTB & boat cruise Gokova Gulf MTB Standard. One of the tour guides takes care of the hybrid cycle group while the other guide leads the MTB group.

Day by day Itinerary

Day 1
Bodrum

Individual arrival to Bodrum. Check in onboard from 1400HRS. Use the afternoon to stroll through the bustling city with its famous bazaar and imposing fortress. In the early evening, we board the ship. Dinner onboard and overnight in Bodrum.

Day 2
Bodrum - Yaliciftlik

After breakfast onboard we can take part on a guided city tour by bike. The tour takes us not only to the imposing St Peter's Fortress, but also to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, once one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Afterwards, we set off for our first bike tour to Kizilagac, known for its local bazaar. After a rest, the tour continues to Yaliciftlik, where we can visit the beautiful beach for a dip in the cool sea or relax in a tea garden for the afternoon. Dinner onboard and overnight in Yaliciftlik.

Day 3
Yaliciftlik - Mazi - Akbuk

From Yaliciftlik, our bike tour takes us through the scenic natural landscapes of the hinterland and finally back to the coast to Mazi. Here, our ship awaits us for lunch, and we can relax onboard during the two and a half hours crossing to Akbuk, a charming little harbour where we can enjoy the afternoon swim. Dinner onboard and overnight in Akbuk.

Day 4
Akbuk - Akyaka

A morning shuttle service will take us from Akbuk to the charming mountain village of Sarnickoy. The bike tour leads us from here to the neighbouring village of Akyaka, where we can stop to admire the ancient rock tombs. This picturesque village is characterised by a pseudo-Seljuk-Ottoman architecture with significant wooden elements, unique to Turkey. This unique piece was designed by award-winning architect Nail Cakirhan. A small stroll through the village is well worthwhile. Dinner onboard and overnight in Akyaka.

Day 5
Akyaka - Camli

A round trip by bike around Akyaka, will take us inland away from the coast. Enjoy the abundance of nature and solitude of this landscape before returning to Akyaka for lunch. Afterwards, we head to the picturesque Camli Bay, where we can take a refreshing swim. Dinner onboard and overnight in Camli.

Day 6
Camli - English Harbour - Yedi Adalar

From Camli, today's bike tour takes us through small villages and fragrant pine forests to the picturesque English Harbour. In this beautiful bay we can swim to our heart's content. The following passage by ship to Yedi Adalar (Seven Islands) offers us one and a half hours to relax and enjoy the sun and the salty sea air on our skin. Dinner onboard and overnight at anchor.

Day 7
Yedi Adalar - Kormen - Knidos

The morning’s crossing takes us to Kormen on the Datca Peninsula, which we are able to discover by bike. A first ascent leads us to a height of 450m, before enjoying the descent back to the sea with a beautiful view over the Greek islands of Nisyros, Tilos and Rhodes. The path ahead leads us along a scenic road along the coast before entering the suburban outskirts of Knidos. After visiting the impressive archaeological site, we spend the night in one of the most picturesque bays on the Turkish coast.

Day 8
Bodrum

After breakfast onboard, enjoy the sea air during the last crossing to Bodrum. Arriving in Bodrum, it is time to say goodbye to your ship, crew and your tour guides. Check out and individual travel back home.

Captain reserves the right to change the route in case of bad weather conditions, crowding or other circumstances out of his control. Departures are guaranteed for minimum 14 participants. Cruise Operator reserves the right to cancel or change the ship name if necessary. Guests are obliged to follow ship rules. Guests are not permitted to bring beverages onboard the vessel that have been purchased onshore. All drinks must be purchased onboard. In the event of inappropriate behaviour, the Cruise Operator and Captain reserve the right to disembark guests.

Port taxes, entrance fees, sightseeing and excursions (if not included in the package) must be paid in local currency upon arrival.

Fitness Level 2
The day tours average of 16-40km take you through mainly hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time constraints. There are also some extended climbs where walking your bicycle is of course permitted. Most of the roads are asphalted and rarely frequented. Your tour guide informs you each day about the tour details. Helmet use is mandatory on all cycle tours. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own, well-fitted helmet. This cruise is primarily a guided group cruise. Upon consultation with your tour guides, the possibility to cycle on your own along recommended, suitable routes, may present itself. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend onboard the ship, instead of taking a planned cycle tour.

Itinerary Changes
Cruise operator reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organisational requirements.

Children
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and with a minimum age of 10, with previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the cycle tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1.50m.

Catering
The onboard chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one warm meal a day. The catering consists of 7 x Half Board. Catering starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.

Internet Availability
Turkish boats do not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the cruise, we recommend taking your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you can use the WiFi to your hearts content.

Cruise and cycle tours are conducted bilingually (English, German).
