The lakes are surrounded by beech and pine forests and are home to extensive wildlife. We start our day walking along the wooden paths and bridges in and around the lakes. Then we can enjoy a picnic lunch in the pure and untouched nature while waiting for the panoramic boat across Kozjak lake. Later in the afternoon we return to our hotel. Overnight in Plitvice. (B) Walking approx 4-5 hours

Day 4
Plitvice - Starigrad - Paklenica - Split

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Starigrad where our adventure begins. Paklenica National Park covers the area of torrent flows of Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica rivers. Their distinctive canyons are carved vertically into the south slopes of Mount Velebit offering exceptional diversity of geomorphologic phenomena, with diverse flora and fauna, attractive landscapes and intact nature. Having adapted to the geographic and climatic environment, the locals mostly engage in nomadic stock herding, which can be seen by their mountain shepherd residences. Hiking is the only way to really get to know Paklenica National Park. There are several wonderful hikes through beech and black pine forests to choose from. After descending all the way to the sea we drive to Split for the evening. Overnight in Split. (B) Hiking approx 4-5 hours

Day 5
Split - Krka - Split

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Krka National Park. This day takes us to Krka River National Park with its fantastic karst formations and travertine waterfalls. We explore the park’s extensive waterways and complex history dating back to late 10th century and first Croatian kings. One of the options is a visit to Skradinski Buk waterfall, the place where the first Croatian hydro plant was built in 1895. A boat will take us to Visovac island and its Franciscan monastery. After walking we return to Split for the evening. Overnight in Split. (B) Walking approx 3 hours

Breakfast at the hotel. Towering above Dubrovnik to the north, the 412 metre peak of Mount Srđ offers stunning views of the walled town below, with a panorama of the whole coast stretching as far as the Pelješac peninsula to the northwest.
